Compared to most other companies we reviewed, Home Warranty of America does not provide robust cus♉tomer service contact options, and its annual payout cap of $15,000 is on the lower end.

ServicePlus offers its clients plenty of ways to seek custo♕mer service (phone, email, online form, even standard ma♌il) and an online ticketing system to initiate claims.

ServicePlus’s average plan🐽 pricing is $494 per year, paid annually. It offers two service leve🌃ls plus add-ons.

• Gold: Plumbing, plumbing stoppages, water heater, cooktop, dishwasher, ductwork, ceiling fans, and more.
• Platinum: Everything in Gold, plus A/C and heating systems, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer.
• Addons (for an additional fee): Pool, septic system, second refrigerator, sump pump, and more.

Transparent pricing, several service plans to choose from, and a well-designed online experience earn Home Warranty, Inc. th🥃e badge for customer service. Where most home warranty companies present you with two, or three service plans to choose from (plus addons), Home Warranty, Inc. offers you 13. 

Another oddity is that its service contracts have 14-month contract terms instead of the more common 12. Shoppers should take that into account when comparing annual plan prices (we did so in our ranking methodology)🍌. There is also no option for monthly contracts. The a🅰ggregate annual payout cap of $10,000 is the lowest among the companies we evaluated.

The average annual plan price with🌠 Home Warranty, Inc is $677, near the top of the list of the 12 companies we reviewed. The service call fee of $100 is on the higher end, too. While you can pick and choose from among 13 service ꦐplans and add-on packages on the website, there are two primary ones for most homeowners.

• Home Protection Plan: The basic plan covers heating and cooling systems, ductwork, plumbing, water heater major appliances, interior electrical, and more.
• Executive Protection Plan: This plan has a longer coverage list than the Home Protection Plan. It covers surge protection for appliances and electronics, lawn sprinkler systems, wine refrigerators, some pre-existing conditions, and more.
• Addons (for an additional fee): You can add coverage for individual appliances, surge protection for all out electronics, plans that cover specific areas of your property (like a home office or exterior plumbing), and more.  

American Home Shield’s maximum payout cap of $6,000 per item is 60% of the annual aggregate cap offered by some home warranty companies. Annual average plan pricing is competitive, too, although the $100 ave🐻rage servi𒊎ce fee is on the higher side.

American Home Shield did well in the transparency category, disclosing pricing, exclusions, and dispute resolution processes. It also offers a sample contract you can review before you commﷺit to the real thing.

American Home Shield was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in ဣMemphis, Tenness﷽ee.

The average annual cost of the plans we researched is $640, and the trade call-out fee is $100. American Homeও Shield offers three service plans. Plans also include “member benefits” like free HVAC inspections and partner discounts.

• Silver: The basic plan covers 14 systems, including heating and A/C, electrical, and plumbing.
• Gold: This plan adds up to $2,000 of coverage for kitchen and laundry appliances to the major system coverage in Silver.
• Platinum: The plan adds coverage for roof leaks and boosts annual caps for appliance repair or replacement to $4,000.

Unlike most home warranty companies, Old Republic Home Protection doesn’t require new customers to wait before filing a claim. So, if you need a repair fast and have been considering a home warranty plan, Old Republic may be the choice for yo🧔u. 

In addition to the absence of a waiting period, you’ll also get high per-item max payouts (up to $5,000 for water heaters, for example) and a choice between mo🃏nthly contracts or annual contracts. 

One major💙 downside is that Old Republic is only available in 28 U.S. states. Another is the relatively high average annual plan cost and service fees, which top out at $125 per trade call.

Old Republic Home Protection wa♋s founded in 1974 and is headquartered in San Ramon, California. 

The average annual plan pricing with Old Republic Home Protection is $674🌠, and service calls range between $100–$125. The company promotes three bundles, plus addons, on its website.

• Basic: This bundle covers appliances like dishwashers and refrigerators (but not washers and dryers), electrical, heating systems (but not cooling), plumbing services, pipe leaks (but not fixtures), garage door openers, and rekeying.
• Deluxe: Follows basic and adds washers and dryers, cooling systems, plumbing fixtures, and code violation fixes.
• Elite: Starts with Deluxe and adds higher per-item limits, plus some regular HVAC maintenance.
• Addons: These coverages, which cost extra, include septic coverage, limited roof leak repairs, water filer systems, and coverage for additional refrigerators.
