Microsoft Unbundles Teams From Office Worldwide Amid Antitrust Concerns

Microsoft (MSFT) is removing Teams from its Office bundle and will begin selling the collaboration platform separately around the𝓰 world to address antitrust concerns.

"To ensure clarity for our customers, we are extending the steps we took last year to unbundle Teams from M365 and O365 in the European Economic Area and Switzerland to customers globally," a Microsoft spokesperson told Investopedia.

Teams was first👍 added to the Office bundle in 2017, and benefitted from a boom in popularity during the pandemic.

Starting today, businesses will be able to use their existing package or change to a new configuration as Teams is removed from Office. The price of Office without Teams for new commercial customers ranges from $7.75 to $54.75, with Teams on its own costing $5.25.

Microsoft shares were 0.5% higher at $422.83 as of 2:45 p.m. ET Monday. They've gained 14% year to date and over 47% in the last 12 months.
