His work in the industry began in 1991 as a research analyst for Libra Investments. Since that time, Bruce has been a private equity trader, consultant, head of research and analysis, vice president, president, founding partner, and head of trading systems development with firms in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, and the U.S.

Bruce is an authority on equities, commodities, technical analysis, forex trading, and digital currencies. Bruce's more than 14 years of writing include work as a columnist for Wealth Monitor, where he covered commodities, forex, and global markets. He was also a weekly columnist for Gulf News. He has made many television appearances on Dubai One TV–Emirates 24/7 show and City 7 TV–National Business News show. He began writing for Investopedia in 2017.

Bruce earned his Master of Business Administration in finance at the Eller College of Management at the Univܫersity of Arizona. Bruce is also a Chartered Market Technician (CMT).
