Anthropic, an artificial intelligence (AI) company that has raised billions from technology giants like Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google and Amazon (AMZN), released the most advanced version of🦩 its Claude 𒁃chatbot Thursday.

The company said the newest model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, performs at a level on par or better than the newest versions of other AI chatbots like ChatGPT from Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI and Google Gemini across a number of different categories and benchmarks, and is twice as fast as previous Claude models.

♎Sonnet Is First Launch in Claude 3.5 Family of Models

Sonnet is the name given to Anthropic's middle-tier Claude model, along with the lower-end Haiku and higher-end Opus. "It shows marked improvement in grasping nuance, humor, and complex instructions, and is exceptional at writing high-quality content with a natural, relatable tone."

The company also said it is adding a new feature to Claude called Artifacts, allowing users to open things like code or images Claude creates in a window adjacent to the conversation with the chatbot, allowing users to give more detailed feedback anﷺd see instant changes.

Anthropic said the update "marks Claude’s evolution from a conversational AI to a collaborative work environment."
